The Kremlin is pulling its best soldiers from the front line to put them on display at the show in Moscow — the May 9 parade. As a result, inexperienced troops are left behind, causing the enemy to suffer losses, according to the Atesh partisan movement on Telegram.
"Atesh agents report that in the Kostyantynivka direction, in the 4th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade and the 1st Guards Motor Rifle Regiment, combat-capable servicemen are being massively withdrawn from the front ahead of the May 9 Victory Day parade," the statement reads.
Russian units are being transferred to the rear for rehearsals and preparations for the parade in Moscow, leaving frontline positions in the hands of those who remain. As the movement writes, the result is that weak and unprepared troops are left on the front.
"The front is being held together by a reserve of those barely capable of fighting, which leads to complete chaos in the defense," Atesh added.
This has radically changed Russian battle tactics — now they are relying not on quality but on quantity.
"They throw crowds of unprepared soldiers into attacks to somehow make up for the lack of professionals. The result is predictable — the number of'200s (killed) and 300s (wounded) has spiked, losses are breaking records, and morale in the units is at rock bottom," the partisans added.
Russia has proposed a temporary ceasefire to Ukraine for the duration of the May 9 parade in Moscow.
If Kyiv refuses to observe the temporary ceasefire, the Kremlin has threatened to attack Kyiv.
