Russia ready for war beyond Ukraine, says Danish prime minister

Russia's military plans are not limited to Ukraine and may include aggression in other parts of Europe, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said at a press conference with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said she is among the European leaders who believe that Russia is prepared to continue the war not only in Ukraine but also in other parts of Europe.
She emphasized that this is precisely why European countries need to begin rearming.
According to Frederiksen, European countries hold differing views on the target of allocating 5% of GDP to defense spending. Therefore, greater flexibility is needed in discussions on the next budget.
Russia – a threat to Europe
During the recent NATO summit in The Hague, the leaders of member states recognized in their final declaration that Russia poses a threat to Euro-Atlantic security.
Additionally, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte recently stated that Russia could prepare for an attack on the Alliance within the next five years, citing the country's accelerated weapons production.
