Russia is actively spreading information online claiming that electricity and heating tariffs for Ukrainians are set to increase, but this is not true, according to a statement from the Center for Countering Disinformation.

The Center for Countering Disinformation, citing the Ministry of Energy, stated that the moratorium on raising tariffs remains in effect. It applies during martial law and will continue for six months after its end.

"Therefore, household tariffs for heating, hot water, and gas supply are not changing, and no decision to raise them is currently being considered," the ministry emphasized.

In the fake claims spread by Russia, draft law No. 13219 is mentioned, which is actually aimed at improving competitive conditions for the production of "green" energy.

"Settlements with RES (renewable energy sources) in no way affect household tariffs, as the fixed price for consumers is ensured through a mechanism of special obligations assigned to Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo, which is not related to supporting green generation," the statement said.

The Center also urged all Ukrainians to trust official sources of information.

Russian fakes

Russian propaganda continues to spread AI-generated fakes. In these, characters posing as Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel emotionally address viewers with claims of alleged shortages of food and equipment.

Fake information is also circulating on social media claiming that Ukraine allegedly provided the US with "distorted intelligence." Ukrainian intelligence has stated that this is a deliberate Russian information attack.

In addition, Russian propaganda continues its systematic efforts to discredit Ukraine and its military, including spreading fakes that falsely link Ukrainian service members to criminal incidents.
