On Saturday, September 13, Russian forces launched heavy attacks on Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. Shelling began early in the morning, damaging numerous buildings and leaving several people dead and wounded, Donetsk Regional Administration Head Vadym Filashkin said.

According to him, the town was struck by both artillery and airpower.

"Since morning, the city has been under artillery fire and airstrikes. An administrative building, many private houses, and apartment blocks have been damaged," the statement read.

Filashkin added that the scale of destruction keeps growing as the shelling continues almost nonstop.

At least three people were killed and six others injured in the latest attacks.

He said officials are carefully documenting all circumstances and again called on civilians to evacuate.

"Once again, I urge all civilians: take care of yourselves. Evacuate to safer regions of Ukraine," Filashkin stressed.

Russian shelling of Ukraine's Kostiantynivka

Russian forces regularly target Kostiantynivka, a frontline city.

On September 3, the city's main intensive care hospital was forced to close after repeated strikes. It was the last medical facility still operating in Kostiantynivka.

That same day, Russian troops attacked the city with artillery and later FPV drones. Nine people were killed and seven were wounded. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were also damaged.
