Russia plans to train about 150,000 more military in Belarus - Zelenskyy

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia plans to train about 150,000 additional troops in Belarus this year, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says in an interview with The Guardian.
According to the President, Russia plans to increase its army by 12-15 divisions in 2025.
He adds that today, supporting Ukraine means protecting the whole of Europe. The President reminded that it was from the territory of Belarus that the full-scale Russia's invasion of Ukraine began, and therefore it is possible that after the training, Russia may try to attack another country.
“They will be able to start (a full-scale invasion - ed.) in Poland, in Lithuania. If Putin wants peace and wants the war to end, why does a country that is having very big problems with its economy now increase its forces by 150,000 and train them? It's definitely not for dialog,” Zelenskyy said.
Possible negotiations between Russia and Ukraine
Back in early February 2025, Zelenskyy stated that Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine could end this year. He also claimed that he was ready to negotiate with Putin. According to him, he is not against such a scenario if it will bring peace to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Andrii Yusov, noted that Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine should not be expected to end soon.
