Zelenskyy: I’m ready for talks with Putin if it is only way to peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he is ready to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, this is possible under one condition, stated Zelenskyy in an interview with Piers Morgan.
During the interview, Zelenskyy was asked whether he could sit at the same table with Putin if a potential peace process involving four groups were to begin.
Zelenskyy said he is ready to do so if it is the only way to bring peace to Ukrainian citizens and avoid further loss of lives.
"Of course, we will go for this option, for a meeting with these four participants. What difference does it make what is my attitude towards him? I won’t be kind to him, and I consider him an enemy. And, to be honest, I believe he also considers me an enemy. That’s it," he said.
Ukraine-Russia talks
The topic of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia has recently regained momentum.
US President Donald Trump is reportedly engaged in "very serious discussions" with Russia regarding an end to the war in Ukraine.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that excluding Ukraine from negotiations between the US and Russia on ending the war would be very dangerous. He emphasized that Kyiv and Washington should continue discussions to develop a ceasefire plan.
Zelenskyy also stated that it remains unclear whether Europe will participate in the talks to end the war with Russia.
