As a result of the Russian missile strike on the capital on the night of August 1, three people were killed and five others were injured. These are the first reports, and the numbers may rise, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram.

"According to preliminary information, three people died in the capital. Five residents of Kyiv were injured. All the wounded were hospitalized by medics," the mayor wrote around 3 am Kyiv time.

Prior to this, he reported destruction in a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where people were trapped. Partial destruction occurred on the first and second floors. In addition, a fire broke out at a car wash in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

Residents of a five-story building in the Solomyanskyi district were also trapped. Debris fell onto the building, and a fire broke out in the nearby courtyard.

Other consequences were recorded tonight in the Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi districts – debris fell and strikes occurred on non-residential areas.

Regarding casualties and the injured, as of 3 am, three people had died in Kyiv after the ballistic missile attack. Five people were injured – the number may rise in both cases over time. Among the injured are minors.

According to medical personnel, there are 15 injured in the capital. Among them are two boys, aged 13 and 17. All the wounded were hospitalized by medics to city hospitals.

Attacks on Kyiv

On the night of August 1, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. As a result of the shelling, a series of very loud explosions were heard in the city.
