Russia 'nationalizes' over 1,200 properties in Crimea this year - NRC
The Russian Federation continues to seize the property of Ukrainian and other businesspeople in occupied Crimea. Specifically, at least 1,200 properties have been "nationalized" in 2024, reports the National Resistance Center (NRC).
"According to the local gauleiter (Serhiy - ed.) Aksyonov, all the property belonged to Ukrainian businesspeople or those who are "not friendly" toward the Russian Federation," the report states.
The NRC noted that as of today, the largest assets in Crimea have either become the property of Russia or have been sold to new "owners." This primarily concerns resort complexes and commercial real estate.
The information resource recalls that in February 2023, the so-called "deputies of the Crimean parliament" supported the "nationalization" of the property of foreign citizens and states that take unfriendly actions toward the Kremlin.
It is worth mentioning that recently, the Zaporizhzhia gauleiter Yevhen Balitsky announced that over 1,000 recreation facilities along the coast of the Azov Sea have been declared "abandoned." This means they will soon be "nationalized."
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that in temporarily occupied Mariupol, Russian invaders have begun construction of a large agricultural market. However, this will actually serve as a center for the removal of Ukrainian property.
