On the night of Tuesday, April 8, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian territory with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 46 drones of various types, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

On the night of April 8, 2025, starting from 7:00 p.m. Kyiv time on April 7, the enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Kursk area, as well as 46 strike drones of the Shahed type and various decoy UAVs from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area.

Mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of Ukraine's Defense Forces countered the enemy's aerial assault.

As of 8:00 a.m., Kyiv time, the downing of 9 Shahed-type strike drones and other types of UAVs in the east and north of the country was confirmed. Another 31 enemy decoy drones were lost locally.

Due to the Russian attack, the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions suffered damage.

Shelling of Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has been shelling populated areas nearly every night.

In particular, the latest large-scale strike involving drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles took place on the night of April 6. Kyiv and other regions came under enemy fire. During the shelling in Kyiv, one person was killed and three were injured.

At that time, the Russians launched 23 missiles and 109 drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 13 missiles and 40 Shahed drones.
