Russia launches over 160 drones and a Kinzhal missile at Ukraine - Nearly all aerial targets shot down

Russia has carried out one of the largest-scale aerial attacks using Shahed strike drones and a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
During the night of August 4, starting at 7:30 p.m. Kyiv time on August 3, Russian forces launched a massive airstrike across Ukrainian territory.
The attack involved 162 UAVs, including Shahed strike drones and various types of decoy drones.
In addition, the aggressor used a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile.
Launches were carried out from Russian territories near Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, and Oryol, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea, particularly from Hvardiiske.
Aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare systems, mobile fire groups, and drone countermeasures systems actively repelled the air assault.
As of 11:30 a.m. Kyiv time, according to preliminary data, Ukraine's Defense Forces shot down or suppressed 161 enemy drones across the north, south, east, and central regions of the country.
Despite the effective work of air defenses, one enemy drone managed to hit a target.
In addition, debris from downed drones fell in at least nine locations across Odesa and Kyiv regions.
Russian attack on Odesa region
During the night of Monday, August 4, the Russian army attacked the Odesa region with drones. The strikes triggered large-scale fires.
In the Odesa district, a private home was damaged. The homeowner personally extinguished the fire in his yard.
Meanwhile, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said during a national TV broadcast that the Russian military is already integrating technologies into Shahed drones that allow them to bypass Ukrainian drone interceptors.
