On the night of June 4, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 293 attack drones. Ukrainian air defenses managed to shoot down most of the hostile UAVs, although some strikes were recorded, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

That night, Russian forces attacked with an Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from Russia's Voronezh region and 293 attack drones, including Shahed drones (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera and Italmas drones, Banderol loitering munitions, and Parodiya decoy drones launched from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chauda in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defenses had shot down or suppressed 264 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as drones of other types, in the north, south, and east of the country.

Hits by one ballistic missile and 24 attack drones were recorded at 11 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at 12 locations.

"The attack is ongoing, and enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.

Russia increases drone production

Drone production in Russia increased by 117% in April compared with the same period in 2025. This year, Moscow plans to produce 7.3 million FPV drones and 7.8 million warheads for UAVs.

In addition, Russia has significantly increased production of Shahed drones, although a large share of this so-called domestic production relies on components from China.
