Russia launches drones and Iskander missile at Ukraine: Air defense in action

Russia launched 86 drones at Ukraine overnight on March 27. Additionally, the enemy attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Voronezh region, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The drone launches were carried out from four directions: Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauda in Crimea.
The aerial attack was countered by aviation, electronic warfare units, and the Air Force and Ukraine’s Defense Forces mobile fire groups.
Air Defense Response Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 42 drones. Air defense systems were active in the southern, northern, and central parts of the country. Additionally, 26 enemy drone-mimicking decoys were lost from radar without causing damage.
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the attack affected Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Chernihiv regions.
Consequences of the Russian attack
On the evening of March 26, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Kharkiv, targeting civilian infrastructure and residential areas, causing fires. As a result, more than ten people were injured.
Additionally, the Russian army attacked Dnipro overnight, damaging enterprises, educational and cultural institutions, residential buildings, and vehicles. Three people were injured: a 48-year-old man and two women aged 75 and 78.
Furthermore, the Sumy region came under enemy fire, while a frontline community in the Zaporizhzhia region lost power and communication due to the attacks.
