Overnight on June 12, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with drones. One of the strikes damaged an educational institution, according to the channel of Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

At approximately 01:38 AM Kyiv time, a series of explosions was heard in Kharkiv. It was later reported that the Shevchenkivskyi district was likely targeted.

"One of the strikes hit the yard of a school. Windows were shattered, and as of now, no casualties have been reported," Terekhov stated at 02:06 AM Kyiv time.

Ongoing attacks on Kharkiv

Russian forces continue to regularly target Kharkiv with drones, missiles, and aerial bombs. On the previous night, Russia launched 15 Shahed drones at the city.

"About 15 Shaheds were launched in a massive attack on the city of Kharkiv. In total, including the broader region, there were 17 drones. They struck within a record time frame of just one to two minutes," said Oleh Syniehubov, head of the regional administration, during a national broadcast.

He added that Russian forces are developing new tactics aimed at destroying civilian infrastructure and residential areas.

"Russia is adjusting its approach. Initially, the Shaheds fly at a significantly increased altitude of 4,000–5,000 meters and then sharply descend just before reaching their target," Syniehubov explained.

The previous night’s attack resulted in strikes at 11 locations, including three direct hits on residential buildings. Four people were killed, and more than 60 others were injured.
