On Friday, August 28, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with Banderol drones and nearly 100 drones, most of which were jet-powered, according to a statement by the Ukrainian Air Force.

"Throughout the day on August 28 (from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Kyiv time), the enemy attacked Ukraine with seven S8000 Banderol drones and 96 strike UAVs, more than 70 of which were jet-powered," the military said.

The enemy directed most of the drones toward Kyiv.

According to preliminary data, Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed six Banderol drones and 73 strike UAVs during the day.

The Air Force said that as of 7 p.m., around 10 Russian jet-powered drones remained in Ukrainian airspace.

Earlier, over the past two days, Russian forces carried out 38 attacks on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The capital was placed under an air raid alert 13 times the previous day and eight times today.

In addition, Russia struck Nova Poshta (postal service) warehouse facilities in the Bilohorodka community. After the first strike, Russian forces attacked the same location twice more while firefighters were still working to put out the blaze.

It was also reported that Russian forces struck the Epicentr shopping center in Zaporizhzhia this morning. The building was damaged in the attack, and one person was injured.
