Russia launches another fake narrative on Ukraine's security guarantees

Russian propaganda is spreading fakes about "fear of occupation" and "anti-fascist underground" in order to sow distrust among Ukrainians toward Western partners and undermine international agreements, according to a publication by the Center for Countering Disinformation on Telegram.
Russian propaganda outlets continue a campaign to discredit Ukraine’s relations with Western partners. According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, their goal is to create doubt and mistrust among civilians and military personnel.
In recent weeks, messages have been actively circulating online claiming a supposed fear of the deployment of Western deterrent forces. Propagandists present this as a "real occupation" of the territory, asserting that such sentiments are widespread in certain regions of Ukraine.
So-called groups such as the "anti-fascist underground in Kherson" are mentioned as evidence, or sources are entirely absent.
The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasizes that there is no confirmed data on such fears. Disinformation campaigns are aimed at undermining trust in Western support, disrupting international security agreements, and complicating diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
Experts note that the spread of such narratives can weaken public trust in allies, create internal tensions, and negatively affect the strategic decisions of the Ukrainian authorities.
It should be recalled that Ukrainian forces thwarted an attempt by the Russian army to break into the Sumy region, inflicting serious damage on the enemy. The president reported that a substantive meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s staff took place today. During the meeting, the supply of air defense systems with missiles, the needs of the armed forces, and the effective use of existing defense resources were discussed.
It should also be noted that the German government is aiming to introduce stricter rules for Russians when obtaining Schengen visas as part of the new EU sanctions package. The decision is intended to limit travel opportunities to Schengen countries and increase pressure on Russia.
