Russia launched 108 drones at Ukraine overnight on May 11. The attack came after the end of the so-called "ceasefire," According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

Starting at 2:00 a.m. on May 11, Russian forces launched 108 attack drones and decoy UAVs from six directions:

  • Bryansk, Shatalovo, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia;

  • Prymorsk in the occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region;

  • Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.

The aerial attack was repelled by Ukrainian Air Force aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Air defense forces destroyed 60 drones over eastern, northern, southern, and central Ukraine. Another 41 enemy decoy UAVs were lost from radar without causing any harm.

Consequences of the Russian attack

On the morning of May 11, Russian drones struck Kyiv region. Residential buildings were damaged in two districts. In Brovary district, one man suffered from an acute stress reaction.

As reported earlier, Russia had declared a so-called "ceasefire" from May 8 to May 10. However, Russian forces failed to observe the ceasefire terms.

Although no drones or missiles were launched during this period, Russia continued to shell border and frontline regions. In particular, its forces intensified aerial bomb strikes on Sumy region.

Fighting on the front lines also continued. On May 10 alone, more than 160 combat engagements were recorded along the front.
