Russia keeps Kalibr carriers in Black and Mediterranean Seas - Navy
As of 06:00 on September 20, military sources have again reported the presence of Russian missile carriers in the Black and Mediterranean seas. A total of six ships have been observed, according to the morning report from the Ukrainian Navy.
According to Ukrainian forces, there is currently one enemy ship in the Black Sea, which is a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total launch capacity of up to four missiles.
Meanwhile, no enemy ships have been detected in the Azov Sea. However, there are five ships in the Mediterranean, four of which are Kalibr carriers with a total launch capacity of up to 32 missiles.
The Naval Forces also reported that over the past day, nine vessels passed through the Kerch Strait in the interest of Russia:
- to the Black Sea - 9 ships, with none continuing toward the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Azov Sea - 5 ships, one of which was coming from the Bosporus.
"Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974 by disabling automatic identification systems," the military added.
Five days ago, on September 15, the Naval Forces detected a total of 21 enemy ships at sea. Sixteen of these were in the Black Sea, seven of which were Kalibr carriers with a total launch capacity of up to 48 missiles. Meanwhile, there were another five ships in the Mediterranean, two of which were missile carriers with a possible launch capacity of up to eight missiles.
