Russia keeps 2 Kalibr missile carriers in Black Sea: Potential Kalibr salvo reported
Today, Russia continues to hold its missile carriers in the Black Sea. As a result, there remains a potential threat of enemy missile strikes on Ukraine, according to the morning report of the Ukrainian Navy.
As of 06:00 Kyit time on December 5, two enemy ships were recorded in the Black Sea. Both are carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo of up to 12 missiles.
At the same time, in the Sea of Azov, as in previous days and months, there are no Russian vessels. However, six enemy ships were spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, four of which were Kalibr carriers, with a total salvo of up to 41 missiles.
The military also informed that over the past 24 hours, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait in the interest of Russia:
- to the Black Sea - 0 vessels, and accordingly, 0 continued towards the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Sea of Azov - 7 vessels, of which 4 vessels continued towards the Bosporus Strait.
"Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling automatic identification systems," the Ukrainian Navy concluded.
Recently, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk, stated that the Russian Kalibr missiles are no longer as effective against Ukraine as they once were. Their efficiency has significantly decreased.
