Russia has said it is not ready to publicly discuss the various versions of the US peace plan aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, stated Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov.
"We are not ready to discuss certain details of what is happening, including the different versions of this peace plan, publicly. Ultimately, time and attention are needed for the dialogue process to continue," Ryabkov said.
He claims that Moscow is ready for further consultations, but complained about the lack of political will from the American side to adhere to any agreements reached at the Alaska summit.
US peace plan
Western media recently published a new peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. It consisted of 28 points, most of which contradict Ukraine’s interests.
According to the plan, Russia would receive part of the Donbas territories in exchange for long-term security guarantees for Ukraine and the EU, a downsizing of the Ukrainian military, the abandonment of long-range weapons, and other concessions.
It also emerged that Russians were likely involved in drafting the plan — some unusual wording in the document points to this. Western media suggest that parts of the text may have originally been written in Russian.
Yesterday, US President Donald Trump hinted that the peace plan to end the war in Ukraine had been reduced to 22 points.
Russia claimed it received the American peace plan through unofficial channels.
