Ukraine-Russia negotiations

Earlier, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Russian delegation is reportedly already ready for the third round of talks with Ukraine in Istanbul after June 22.

According to her, the exact dates for the meeting "will be determined shortly."

Zakharova also said that during the negotiations, Moscow wants to discuss the Ukrainian and Russian memoranda concerning a ceasefire and the end of the war.

Meanwhile, Kyiv stated that the first two rounds of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia turned out to be empty, so Ukraine still does not know what can be discussed with the Russians at the third meeting.

The Russian memorandum represents an ultimatum with conditions impossible for Ukraine to fulfill. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, even the Russians themselves acknowledged during the Istanbul meeting that they presented Ukraine with an ultimatum.

Today, Russia’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, said that Russia is preparing a list of children it is ready to return to Ukraine.

According to her, the list may be handed over at the next round of negotiations.
