Russia has already developed scenarios for a war with Europe within the next 19 years. Poland or the Baltic states could be among the aggressor's potential targets, according to Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service.

Russia's current objective in Europe

Ukrainian intelligence emphasized that one of Russia's main objectives is currently to undermine European support for Ukraine. To achieve this, Moscow uses hybrid warfare tactics, including sabotage, cyberattacks, influence operations, disinformation, drone incursions, and espionage.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, 400 Russian intelligence operatives are currently operating in European countries. They are testing the limits of what is permissible under NATO's collective defense framework.

Plans for war with Europe

"It would be a mistake to assume that Russia has abandoned the prospect of direct military confrontation with Europe. On the contrary, Moscow considers it one of its potential military conflict scenarios through 2045. Six of these scenarios involve northern Europe. Scenarios involving Poland and the Baltic states are also being actively developed," Ukrainian intelligence emphasized.

The agency explained that the Putin regime needs an external enemy to justify its policies, mobilize society, and maintain control over it.

One scenario involves creating a regional crisis on NATO's eastern flank. The Baltic states are among the most vulnerable countries. Russia could attempt to demonstrate that the Alliance is unable to respond quickly enough to defend its members.

"The Russian threat to Europe has long extended beyond the possibility of a direct attack by Moscow. Russia is preparing for a long-term confrontation in which the Ukrainian and European fronts are interconnected," the intelligence agency noted.

Just yesterday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Russia's actions against Europe have already gone beyond hybrid warfare. The aggressor country is conducting military operations in Europe.

The Wall Street Journal also recently reported that NATO countries have developed a "theory of victory" in the event of a war with Russia. The strategy includes strikes on St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
