Russia is dragging out war, concessions do not persuade killer - Zelenskyy

Russia is dragging out the war, and therefore deserves greater pressure from the world. Concessions will not convince a killer, President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reports.
Ukrainian leader noted that yet another week had ended without any attempt by Russia to agree to the numerous demands of the world and to stop the killings.
Over the past day, there were 137 combat clashes on the front line; the Russian army is not easing its pressure and is not counting its losses.
"In particular, in the area of responsibility of just one of our units - the 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade in the Donetsk region, in the Pokrovsk sector - 209 occupiers were eliminated in the week between August 4 and 10. And this is the result of only one of our brigades," Zelenskyy noted.
According to the Ukrainian President, over the week, the Russians used more than a thousand aerial bombs and nearly 1,400 attack drones against Ukraine.
"Russia is dragging out the war, and therefore it deserves stronger global pressure. Russia refuses to stop the killings, and therefore must not receive any rewards or benefits. And this is not just a moral position - it is a rational one. Concessions do not persuade a killer. But truly strong protection of life stops the killers," Zelenskyy emphasized.
Trump-Putin meeting
US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will meet on August 15 in Alaska. According to Western media, the White House is considering the option of inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump also recently made a statement about possible territorial concessions. He claims that there is allegedly a possibility of a "territory swap" with Russia and the return of some areas to Ukraine.
At the same time, Zelenskyy replied that the territorial issue is explained in the Constitution, and Ukraine will not hand over its lands to Russia.
