Russia has intensified its attacks using guided aerial bombs on Ukraine's Defense Forces positions and Ukrainian settlements. In April alone, the enemy launched more than 5,000 bombs, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.

"Throughout April, the number of attacks by enemy aircraft on positions of the Defense Forces and Ukrainian settlements using guided aerial bombs increased. In April, Russian aviation dropped more than 5,000 guided aerial bombs on Defense Forces positions and frontline settlements," the Ministry of Defense stated.

A quarter of the guided aerial bombs (more than 1,200 bombs) were launched against Defense Forces positions in Russia's Kursk region.

The Ministry of Defense added that throughout 2024, the Russians have used about 40,000 guided aerial bombs in total, and since the beginning of 2025 - more than 15,000.

Russian shelling of Ukraine

As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted in early April, one of the biggest problems today is Russian strikes with guided aerial bombs. In particular, Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine does not have the necessary number of missiles for air defense to counter the threat. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense also previously warned that the enemy has increased guided aerial bomb attacks since the beginning of the year.

Following last night's shelling, Zelenskyy called on the West to pressure the terrorist state into peace.
