Russian forces have increased the number of Kalibr missile carriers in the Black Sea, posing a threat of shelling to Ukraine, reports the Ukrainian Navy.

As of 06:00 Kyiv time on March 23, three enemy ships have been recorded in the Black Sea. All of them are equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 12 units.

Meanwhile, in the Sea of Azov, there are no vessels, as in previous days. However, four ships were spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, three of which are missile carriers with a total salvo capacity of up to 26 Kalibr missiles.

Additionally, over the past 24 hours, in the interests of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:

  • to the Black Sea – 1 vessel, none of which continued towards the Bosporus Strait;
  • to the Sea of Azov – 7 vessels, 5 of which were moving from the Bosporus Strait.

"Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) of 1974 by disabling automatic identification systems," the Ukrainian Navy added.

Ukrainian military forces began recording enemy ships in the Black Sea again only yesterday morning. Before this, for about a week, there were no Kalibr missile carriers or regular Russian vessels in the area.
