Russian forces launched a second attack on Zaporizhzhia in the early hours of September 28. As a result of the latest strike, a residential building caught fire, and there are casualties, according to a Telegram post by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

Night attack on Zaporizhzhia

During the night, the city was under threat from drone and high-speed missile strikes. Several local channels reported that the city was also hit by multiple rocket launcher fire.

According to official data, at least four strikes were carried out across the city. One of the attacks caused a fire in a residential area, a gas station was damaged, and one strike hit a private house.

As a result of the night attack, a 22-year-old woman and two men, aged 21 and 32, were injured. By morning, the number of casualties from the night strike had risen to four, as another woman sought medical assistance.

Morning strike on Zaporizhzhia

In the early hours, while Russia was carrying out a massive attack on Ukraine with drones and cruise missiles, Zaporizhzhia was hit by two more strikes.

Specifically, in one of the high-rise buildings:

"The attack damaged the production facilities of an enterprise and a multi-story residential building. Apartments in the building are on fire," reported Fedorov.

Additionally, the head of the Regional Military Administration reported that Russia is attempting to strike the city’s critical infrastructure. The blast wave also damaged one of the educational institutions.

According to the latest reports, three people were injured in Zaporizhzhia as a result of the morning attack.

Zaporizhzhia under attack

Over the past few weeks, Russia has increasingly targeted Zaporizhzhia, using drones, missiles, and aerial bombs.

For example, on the night of September 27, the city was struck by two attack drones. The strike destroyed an ATB store, and approximately 9,000 residents were left without electricity.
