Russia hits Ukraine's Sumy with cluster munitions and drones: Injuries reported

Russian forces attacked Sumy with a cluster munition on the evening of July 14 and continued drone strikes on the community afterward, according to a Telegram statement by Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
According to preliminary information, the Russian strike hit a residential area on the outskirts of Sumy. The attack damaged several private homes.
Hryhorov warned that unexploded munitions could still be present on streets near the impact site.
"Unexploded ordnance may remain in the area near the strike site. Do not approach or touch any suspicious objects," he said.
All relevant emergency services are working at the scene. Authorities are surveying the area, dealing with the aftermath of the attack, and disposing of explosive hazards.
Later that evening, Russian drones also attacked the Sumy community, striking civilian infrastructure facilities.
Hryhorov later said that five people were hospitalized following the evening attack on the Sumy community.
Two women and one man with injuries are undergoing medical examinations. They remain under doctors' supervision and are receiving the necessary treatment. Two other men were transferred to outpatient care after being examined.
Later, acting Sumy Mayor Artem Kobzar said the number of injured had risen to seven.
According to him, two of the seven victims are in serious condition. Doctors also diagnosed an 11-year-old boy with an acute stress reaction.
On the evening of July 11, Russian forces struck Sumy, damaging residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
The attack killed five people and injured 30 others.
