Russian forces attacked apartment buildings in Kharkiv on Sunday evening, October 4. The strikes have left one person dead and several injured, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

At around 10:53 p.m., the mayor said that a Banderol loitering munition had apparently struck an apartment building in the Industrialnyi district.

"We're receiving information that two people were killed and several were injured," Terekhov added some time later.

At the same time, Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov also confirmed the attack. However, according to his information, one person had been killed and two others injured at that point. Later, he wrote that, according to updated information, an administrative building and two cars had caught fire in the Industrialnyi district.

Also, at around 9:05 p.m., Mayor Terekhov reported another attack in the Kyivskyi district. The strike apparently hit an open area.

Some time later, the mayor reported as follows: "According to updated information from the Situation Center, one person was killed and six others injured in a double strike by Banderol munitions on the Industrialnyi district. Cars and an administrative building are on fire, and about 10 apartment buildings have been damaged. A search-and-rescue operation is underway."

Ukraine's Kharkiv under Russian attacks

As previously reported, on October 2, Russia struck two Kharkiv districts—Slobidskyi and Nemyshlianskyi—with guided aerial bombs. One strike hit a residential building. Dozens of people were injured in the attack.

Also, on September 30, Russian forces attacked a shopping mall in Kharkiv's Kyivskyi district with a drone, injuring one person.
