Russia hits 1 million troop losses, Ukraine strikes Moscow region – Thursday brief

Ukrainian defenders have neutralized more than a million Russian soldiers since the start of the full-scale war. Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a facility in the Moscow region.

Russia loses over 1 million troops in war against Ukraine
Over the past 24 hours, from June 11 to June 12, Russia lost 1,140 soldiers on the front lines. In total, since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian army has lost more than 1 million servicemen, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to June 12, 2025, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 1,000,340 (+1,140) Russian troops were eliminated

- troop-carrying AFVs - 22,786 (+3)

Moscow region hit by Ukrainian drone strike on key military-industrial site – General Staff
Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, carried out a successful strike on an important object of the enemy’s military-industrial complex (MIC) in the Moscow region of Russia, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The strike was carried out during the night of June 12.
The affected object is a factory for serial production and assembly of printed circuit boards and production of electronics. The enemy uses the facility’s products in the manufacture of high-tech weapons and equipment.

Ukraine and the Russian Federation conducted the next stage of the exchange of prisoners of war within the framework of agreements in Istanbul during the second round of negotiations. Today, June 12, the sides returned home groups of wounded and severely wounded fighters.
Thus, as reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, today a group of defenders from the category "severely wounded and seriously ill" was returned from Russian captivity.
Among those returned home are servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular of the Air Assault Forces, Naval Forces, Air Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, SBS, as well as the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy announces delivery of IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine: Three-year plan
Ukraine will receive new IRIS-T air defense systems from Germany. The delivery plan is scheduled for three years, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
"We understand the delivery plan now. I won’t go into all the details, but the plan is for the next three years. And this is very important assistance for us in any case," Zelenskyy said.
