Russia has no safe places in Ukraine anymore - Zelenskyy's Office Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak (Vitalii Nosach, RBC-Ukraine)

A new chapter began in the Russia-Ukraine war. There is no safe place for the occupiers within the territory of Ukraine now, according to an Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak.

"The new chapter of this war has (un)officially begun. No matter how many times the occupied territories are included in the 'Russian Constitution' to 'preserve the legacy' under the risk of palace coups, Moscow will eventually have to recognize the conditions on the ground. There are no more safe places for Russian troops within the... internationally recognized borders of Ukraine," Podolyak stated.

According to him, this means that Russia now has no chance of keeping the southern regions of Ukraine, Crimea, and the Black Sea Fleet.

"The countdown has already begun. The oil and gas needle is still delaying the end. But it has become inevitable a long time ago," he added.

Background

Today, on October 17, the Ukrainian military successfully struck Russian airfields in the temporarily occupied territory. According to the Special Operations Forces, nine Russian helicopters, air defense systems, an ammunition depot, and much more were destroyed as a result of the attack.

Later, The Wall Street Journal reported that Ukrainian forces used long-range ATACMS missiles for the strikes. Their transfer from the U.S. has not been officially confirmed yet.
