Russia is allocating funds to prepare for a major war—the largest rearmament program in decades. According to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with Moseychuk + the plan focuses on confrontation with NATO.

Russia is implementing its largest rearmament program since 1980, with a budget exceeding $1.1 trillion.

Budanov stated that these funds are part of a systemic document outlining Russia’s preparation for a full-scale armed confrontation with NATO by 2030.

"All these actions and budgets are directed precisely at this goal. The main part of the funds is expected to be spent by around 2030. After that, the spending will start to decline," Budanov said.

According to him, most of the allocated funds are to be used by 2030, after which the pace of expenditures will decrease.

The Main Intelligence Directorate reports that Russia's strategic plans focus on the Baltic countries, Finland, Norway, and the entire northern flank of NATO.

Moscow expects a potential clash in this direction.

Recently, Main Intelligence Directorate head Kyrylo Budanov stated that Russia plans to spend about $1.1 trillion on rearmament by 2036.

He called this the largest rearmament program in Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Currently, Russia is undergoing total mobilization of politics, economy, and society aimed at preparing for a large-scale war.

It is worth recalling that Budanov previously said Russia lowered its plan to recruit new military personnel by nearly 100,000 soldiers.
