Russia forces bank debtors into its army ranks in occupied areas
The enemy continues to find ways to mobilize people in the occupied areas into the ranks of the Russian armed forces. This time, the Russians have turned to bank debtors, reports the National Resistance Center of Ukraine (NRC).
According to the information source, the occupiers are promising to write off bank debts for borrowers, but only if they sign a contract with the Russian army.
As a result, the occupation administrations are calling bank debtors and their family members to recruit people and partially meet the mobilization plan in the territories temporarily seized by Russia. Moreover, the Russians even promise to forgive debts for those whose relatives sign a contract.
“The Kremlin always uses the poverty created by its actions to recruit people for the empire's wars. However, currently, the number of people willing to sign a contract with the Russian army in the temporarily occupied territories is critically low,” the message states.
At the end of the publication, the Center for National Resistance emphasized that recruiting people from occupied territories to fight against their own country is a violation of international law.
“Everyone involved in this process will face punishment,” the CNS concluded.
It is worth noting that at the end of November, it became known that Russia was increasing mobilization plans in the occupied territories of Ukraine. This effort to strengthen the mobilization process was driven by significant Russian losses on the frontline. The CNS had warned that the Kremlin was preparing various plans to recruit soldiers for the Russian army, orchestrated by the gauleiters.
