Russia focuses on terror strikes: Mayor reveals specifics of attacks on Kharkiv

Russian forces, in their shelling of Kharkiv, are attempting to target civilian facilities, including historical monuments. Such strikes by the enemy represent deliberate terror, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
The mayor of Kharkiv provided details on the consequences of last night’s and the previous evening’s Russian attack on the city. He reported that the Russian army once again used a hybrid of an aerial bomb and missile for the attack.
"At 2:51 AM (Kyiv time - ed.), the city was struck by a Grom-E1 hybrid missile. It hit a private house in the Osnovianskyi district. As a result, one house was completely destroyed, and 19 others were damaged," reads Terekhov’s post on Telegram.
Four people were killed in the attack, and the mayor noted that “rescuers searched for them under the rubble for several hours.”
"In recent days, the enemy has focused specifically on terror strikes against Kharkiv — hitting residential buildings, our historical landmarks, and symbols of the city, such as Derzhprom (the State Industry House in Kharkiv - ed.)," the mayor stated.
In this context, he urged Kharkiv residents to exercise extreme caution and not to ignore air raid alerts.
Russian strikes on Kharkiv
Earlier reports indicated that on the evening of October 28, Russian forces launched KAB (guided aerial bombs) strikes on Kharkiv, targeting the city’s central area in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
As a result of the Russian attack, a medical facility and an administrative building were damaged, including the iconic Derzhprom building, a national heritage site. According to the latest information, nine people were injured.
RBC-Ukraine also shared photos and videos of the aftermath of the Russian shelling in central Kharkiv on October 28.
Additionally, on the night of October 29, the Russian army carried out more airstrikes on Kharkiv, resulting in casualties and causing further destruction and damage to buildings in the city.
