Russians hit center of Kharkiv with guided bombs, fire breaks out
Russian occupiers launched air bombs at Kharkiv this evening, October 28, with explosions heard throughout the city, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
"Explosions can be heard in Kharkiv. The enemy is attacking the city with guided bombs, be cautious. There may be repeat launches," Terekhov wrote.
He later clarified that the city center was the target of the attack. A fire broke out at the impact site, with smoke rising. Information on casualties and damage is still being confirmed.

Terekhov confirmed that there are injured people as a result of the Russian strike.

According to the mayor, five people are known to be injured in Kharkiv at this time.

Russian forces have been nearly daily terrorizing Kharkiv with airstrikes recently, using guided bombs for their attacks.
Earlier, explosions were also heard in the city on the night of October 28 due to a Russian attack. The occupiers struck near a nine-story residential building, injuring one man with shrapnel wounds.
Russian forces also bombed Kharkiv on October 27. Detailed consequences of that attack remain unknown.
