Russia hindered the rescue operation in Poltava after a strike on a training center. The Russian forces provoked air raid alerts and repeated attacks, according to Poltava City Council Deputy Serhii Kaplin.

According to him, all operating rooms in Poltava are currently occupied with those injured in the morning strike. Doctors are working non-stop to operate on all the injured.

"The situation was tragic because, in the first few minutes after the strike, Russia made repeated attempts to destabilize the situation, provoking air raid alerts and taking people from the site, including SES workers and those clearing the rubble," Kaplin said.

He noted that just as rescuers arrived at the strike site, another air raid alert would sound again, causing further disruption.

"Because there is a requirement to leave the territory in case of air raid alert. This happened almost immediately. I was nearby, and within a minute, we heard the explosion and the air raid alert. The strike was so quick that it was extremely difficult to respond properly and quickly," he remarked.
