Russia destroys substations and damages power grids in Kyiv

In Kyiv, transformer stations and power grids were destroyed or damaged during Russian shelling on July 8, according to DTEK energy company.
"Three DTEK transformer substations were destroyed or damaged in Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. Power grids were also damaged," the statement says.
Power engineers are already working on the ground. "Most of the houses will be powered by backup sources soon," DTEK adds.
On July 8, Russia launched a missile attack on Ukraine using 40 missiles of various types. Residential buildings and the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital were damaged in Kyiv. 10 people were killed and 33 wounded.
Destruction and damage to civilian infrastructure were reported in seven districts of Kyiv:
- in the Shevchenkivskyi district, the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital was damaged, and there were destructions.
- in Holosiivskyi district - a kindergarten and a residential building were damaged, and cars are burning;
- an office building was damaged in Solomianskyi district;
- in the Dniprovsky district - debris is burning in residential buildings;
- a private house was damaged in the Darnytskyi district;
- in the Svyatoshynskyi district, debris is burning near a residential building; a fire broke out in the premises of an enterprise;
- a house is on fire in the Desnianskyi district.
