This morning, on March 6, two Russian missile carriers armed with Kalibr cruise missiles were spotted in the Black Sea, with Russia having deployed them for combat duty. Before this, no enemy missile carriers had been observed in this area for nine days, according to the Ukrainian Navy.

According to the military, two enemy ships, which are carriers of Kalibr missiles with a total salvo of up to 8 missiles, were spotted in the Black Sea.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet had previously deployed missile carriers in the Black Sea on February 25. On that day, the Ukrainian side reported 4 Kalibr missile carriers.

The Ukrainian Navy added that no enemy ships have been detected in the Sea of Azov today.

Meanwhile, in the Mediterranean Sea, 4 Russian ships were spotted, 3 of which are carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo of up to 26 missiles.

The military also reported that over the past 24 hours, in Russia's interests, the passage through the Kerch Strait was made by:

  • to the Black Sea - 0 ships;
  • to the Sea of Azov - 1 ship, but 0 ships continued moving from the Bosporus Strait.

"Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), by turning off automatic identification systems," the Ukrainian Navy reiterated.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, stated that Russia's Kalibr missiles are no longer as effective against Ukraine as they once were. Their efficiency has significantly decreased.

In January, the partisan movement ATESH reported that the Russian army was restoring an old submarine base in occupied Crimea.
