Russia deploys forbidden mines on frontline: Update on Tavria direction

Over the past day, Ukrainian fighters have destroyed almost 300 Russians, equipment, and ammunition depots of the enemy in the Tavria direction. At the same time, the Russians are using prohibited mines at the front, reports the United Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria Region.
In total, in the Tavria direction, the enemy launched 1 air strike, and 1 missile strike, carried out 29 combat engagements, and fired 544 artillery shells.
As Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the operational and strategic group of troops Tavria, says, Russian troops continue to use anti-personnel mines prohibited by international agreements on the territory of Ukraine, in particular POM-2.
In the zone of responsibility of the operational and strategic group of troops Tavria in the Avdiivka direction, the Russians do not stop trying to surround Avdiyivka, but our defenders firmly hold the defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
The enemy's offensive actions east of Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Severne, and Avdiivka of the Donetsk region were unsuccessful, where the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 12 attacks.
In the Maryinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Pobeda of the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian soldiers repelled 16 attacks.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted an unsuccessful assault near Staromayorske, Donetsk region.
And in the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, and exhaust the enemy along the entire front line.
Enemy losses
The total losses of the enemy amounted to 283 people, and three occupiers surrendered.
Also, Ukrainian fighters destroyed 8 units of Russian military equipment, in particular:
- 1 armoured vehicles;
- 4 UAVs;
- 3 cars.
In addition, one warehouse of ammunition of the Russian army was destroyed.
The situation at the front
According to the General Staff, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are continuing assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, and are holding defenses in the Avdiivka area. During the past 24 hours, 46 combat clashes took place.
According to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian troops counterattacked in the Avdiivka direction and advanced near the railway to the southeast of Stepove. Also, the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region near Novoprokopivka.
Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of the morning of Monday, November 20, amounted to 640 occupiers, the total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 319,210 soldiers. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 4 tanks and 4 artillery systems.
