Russia degrades to North Korea's level after using intercontinental missile - Ukraine's MFA
If Russia's use of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) is confirmed, it would mean that the country has degenerated to the level of North Korea. Ukraine is already taking steps to elicit a global response to such an attack, according to a briefing by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi.
According to him, in connection with Russia's use of a new type of weapon in the strike on Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is taking diplomatic steps. In particular, the ministry has contacted its partners to inform them about the incident.
"We are also engaging the mechanisms of the UN and NATO, and plan to involve the OSCE mechanisms to respond to this event. There will be formal appeals, notes, and the convening of specific formats to awaken the world and draw attention to what has happened," Tykhyi clarified.
He added that the lack of a strong response from partners is due to the fact that they are still studying the data regarding today’s attack on Ukraine.
"If the use of an intercontinental ballistic missile is confirmed, it can be stated that Putin's Russia has degenerated to the level of North Korea, which itself periodically launches such missiles, frightening the world," emphasized the MFA spokesperson.
He noted that Ukraine is urging foreign leaders to respond now to Russia's use of a new type of weapon and not wait for detailed expert conclusions. Since the fact of using the new weapon is already established, the aggressor must be shown that such actions are unacceptable.
Russia may have launched an ICBM at Ukraine
This morning the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russia, for the first time since the beginning of the war, used an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) to strike Ukraine. The target was the Dnipropetrovsk region.
At the same time, a video was released online showing the moment of the attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that all characteristics of the new missile used by Russia against Ukraine match intercontinental ballistic missiles.
All details of the attack are available in the RBC-Ukraine report.
