Russia cynically justifies strike on demining mission near Ukraine's Chernihiv

Russian forces have effectively admitted to striking a humanitarian demining mission in the Chernihiv region with a missile. However, they are trying to disguise another terrorist act by claiming that they allegedly hit a "UAV launch site," according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Specifically, Russia released a video of the terrorist attack in the Chernihiv region — effectively admitting that it deliberately struck a civilian target. At the same time, it essentially confessed that a reconnaissance drone was deliberately used to locate a civilian target, claiming that the mission was detected by "air reconnaissance means."
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the strike was carried out with Iskander-M ballistic missiles. They claimed they targeted "transport vehicles with enemy UAV launchers."
Meanwhile, Russia once again fabricated "heavy losses" for an equally fabricated "enemy," allegedly destroying "up to 10 militants and 8 vehicles."
In addition, Russia is attempting to justify the terrorist attack by trying to accuse Ukraine of supposedly "lying" — claiming that Kyiv is attempting to cover up a "hit on a UAV launch site" by framing it as an attack on a civilian demining mission.
On September 4, Russian forces struck the Chernihiv region with a ballistic missile. The Russian missile strike claimed the lives of several people. The attack targeted personnel of a humanitarian demining mission.
At 02:53 PM Kyiv time, an air raid alert was declared in Ukraine due to the threat of a ballistic strike from the Russian Federation. By 02:58 PM, reports of explosions in Chernihiv began to emerge.
More details about the Russian strike on Chernihiv can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
