Russia plans to import petroleum products from other countries to cover the shortage, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Russia is negotiating with other countries on the possible import of petroleum products.

However, he cites not Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian refineries as the reason, but "surging demand."

"This will be another step toward stabilizing the market, aimed at bringing down this surging demand," Peskov said.

However, according to him, petroleum products will be imported only if offers at an acceptable price are found.

In Sevastopol, some stores closed due to the blackout and fuel crisis. Residents of the occupied Ukrainian city are also complaining that prices have risen.

Meanwhile, fuel prices in Russia have broken a 20-year record. The reason is successful strikes on refineries in Russia.
