Russian forces have claimed the "capture" of the village of Basivka in the border area of Sumy region.

Andriy Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, says in a comment to RBC-Ukraine that the enemy continues its disinformation campaign regarding the alleged seizure of settlements in the Sumy region or a breach of the border.

According to Demchenko, the Russians persist in using the tactic of small assault groups to cross the border into Ukraine. The main objective of such groups is to build up forces and expand the zone of combat operations on Ukrainian territory.

"This has been observed in the direction of the Novenke-Basivka area. At the same time, these small assault groups are being eliminated to the maximum extent by Defense Forces units," Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said.
