Russia preparing new offensive: Zelenskyy's office reveals number of enemy troops

The Ukrainian military command is monitoring the preparation of the Russian army for the intensification of fighting on several fronts, states Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, according to Suspilne.
According to him, this year the Russian army plans to increase its forces by 150,000 troops. This is equivalent to approximately 15 motorized infantry divisions.
"Their formation is ongoing. The Russians currently have no issues with recruiting personnel. However, it is important to understand that not all of these units can be deployed in battle at the same time. Therefore, it is expected that in the near future they will try to apply maximum pressure on the fronts where this is possible," Palisa said.
He noted that Russia is ramping up pressure on the frontlines amid consultations on a ceasefire. The Russians are not particularly interested in this, except for matters related to the maritime direction.
As for the land territories, the Russian forces continue to make gradual advances, attempting to push through certain sections of the front. This refers to partial tactical successes they are achieving at very high costs.
"But if they can afford it, they will continue to drag out time. On certain sections of the front, the enemy has some successes, but we are also counterattacking and achieving results," the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office said.
Earlier, the Associated Press, citing statements from Ukrainian officials and military analysts, reported that the Russian army is preparing for a new offensive on Ukraine in the "coming weeks" along a 1,000-kilometer front line. According to the agency's journalists, Russia aims to intensify pressure on Ukraine and "strengthen the Kremlin's negotiating position in ceasefire talks."
On March 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an interview with Figaro, said that the Kremlin leader "is trying to buy time and is preparing for a spring offensive." According to the president, the Russian army is preparing a new offensive, particularly in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
Possible Russian offensive on the front
Recently, information spread online that Russia is allegedly preparing for a new offensive in Ukraine. Specifically, the Associated Press, citing sources, wrote that the Russian forces could launch an offensive in the coming weeks.
In Ukraine, it is believed that Russia may focus its strikes on the northeastern regions, including Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.
Military expert Pavlo Narozhnyi believes that a Russian offensive is inevitable, but the question remains regarding its actual scale.
