The Russian army claimed to have captured the village of Novoyehorivka in the Luhansk region. In reality, the settlement is still under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the Russian claim is a fake, according to the Third Assault Brigade.

Recently, the enemy made a statement about capturing the settlement of Novoyehorivka in the Luhansk region, and as proof, the Russians published a video allegedly recorded in the area of responsibility of the Third Assault Brigade.

"We report that this statement and all news about the capture of the village are yet another fake by Russian propaganda aimed at creating the illusion of success for the Russian Federation along our brigade’s lines," the statement reads.

According to the Ukrainian military, the video filmed by the Russians shows the destroyed village of Kovalivka, which they had previously destroyed.

"The commander of the Russian 20th Guards Army, who has only captured Novoyehorivka on paper, is actively trying to push his units against the defenses of the Third Assault Brigade. As of now, Novoyehorivka remains under the control of our brigade," the Third Assault Brigade stated.

Where is Novoyehorivka located?

Novoyehorivka (formerly Sverdlovka until 2016) is a village in Ukraine, located in the Svatove district in the Luhansk region. The population is 6 people.
