In the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, practices reminiscent of Soviet methods of coercion are reemerging. Students are being forced to take part in the so-called “Stakhanovite movement,” which is being used as a cover for compulsory labor, according to the National Resistance Center.

The Russian administration in the temporarily seized territories of the Luhansk region has initiated the creation of a so-called “youth Stakhanovite movement.” Behind this initiative lies the forced involvement of students from local pseudo-universities in work at industrial enterprises.

To tighten control, the occupiers plan to introduce competitions between student groups, echoing the Soviet system of ideological pressure.

Attempt to return to the past

Russia, which has devastated the region and its infrastructure, is now effectively depriving young people of prospects by reviving practices of repression and imposing the cult of collective labor. Instead of opportunities for growth, a model of the past is being forced upon them - one dominated by dependency, scarcity, and the devaluation of the individual.

Call to resistance

The National Resistance Center emphasizes that such actions are aimed at the total subjugation of society. The organization urges residents of the temporarily occupied territories to report on the actions of the enemy and collaborators through an anonymous chatbot and to join the Resistance Movement.

In the occupied territories of Donbas, Russia presented a new strategy for water supply, which boils down to waiting for autumn and winter rains instead of providing a real solution to the problem.

Putin announced plans to distribute two hectares of Ukrainian land to militants for their participation in the war, underscoring the colonial nature of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
