It is necessary to plan maximum collective pressure on Russia, as it has become a real threat to global peace and security, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said during a UN Security Council meeting, according to The Guardian.

"Russia itself has become a real threat to global peace and security," Tsahkna said.

He called on other members of the UN Security Council to "exercise collectively maximum pressure on Russia, forcing it to just and lasting peace in Ukraine, and forcing it to abandon its criminal, neocolonial and imperial ambitions."

The Estonian Foreign Minister believes that allies can "hold Russia accountable for its crime of aggression against Ukraine, for the war crimes and crimes against humanity it has committed since 2014 and for its ongoing violations of international treaties and agreements, it has pledged to uphold."

"Impunity, appeasement, and further concessions would only embolden Putin and lead to new crimes," Tsahkna stressed.

Russian aircraft violated Estonian airspace

On the morning of September 19, three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated Estonian airspace.

The incident occurred over the Gulf of Finland, where the Russian aircraft remained for 12 minutes.

In response, the country requested consultations with NATO under Article 4 of the Alliance's charter.

Moscow denied the violation of Estonian airspace. In a statement, the Russian Ministry said that the MiG-31 fighters were flying over neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, allegedly following a designated route and not entering the airspace of other states.

At the same time, the Estonian Ministry of Defense published a map of the route of the three aircraft, which spent almost 12 minutes in its airspace.

It is known that on September 23, NATO ambassadors will hold a meeting to discuss the violation of Estonian airspace by Russian aircraft.
