Russia bolsters forces in Zaporizhzhia region - Is there threat of offensive?
Russian forces are reinforcing their personnel in the Zaporizhzhia region. Currently, there are over 90,000 individuals present. However, there is no threat of an offensive in this direction, according to the spokesperson for the Tavria operational group, Dmytro Lykhovii.
"If we consider the number of enemy personnel, for example, in the Zaporizhzhia region, there are quite a few Russians here, almost 90,000. And there has been an increase in this number - about 2,000 more in the last three weeks. However, our intelligence reports that there are no drastic significant changes that would affect the nature of combat operations," said Lykhovii.
According to him, the number of Russians present in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions is insufficient for conducting successful offensive operations beyond the positions where the enemy currently stands.
The spokesperson also noted that the current nature of combat in the operational zone of the Tavria group is positional warfare, as the Russians are unable to conduct active assault operations on multiple fronts simultaneously.
Situation on the frontline
According to the General Staff, 155 combat clashes were recorded on the frontline over the past day, July 22. The enemy remains most active in the Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk directions.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost about 568,000 personnel. Yesterday alone, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,220 soldiers.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 4 tanks, 20 armored fighting vehicles, 57 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
