Russian forces are attempting to deploy more infantry to Chasiv Yar under the cover of snow. However, Ukrainian defenders are actively eliminating enemy soldiers and equipment, according to the 24th Separate King Danylo Mechanized Brigade on Telegram.

"In the city, the weather is deteriorating — the enemy is trying to amass infantry under the cover of snow, using rocket artillery and motorized transport," the brigade’s report states.

They specified that Ukrainian defenders are destroying enemy assault groups, artillery and vehicles, pilot take-off points, and ground robotic systems.

Over the past week, Russian losses in Chasiv Yar have amounted to:

  • 29 soldiers killed and 32 wounded

  • 345 drones of various types

  • 2 artillery systems

  • 7 vehicles

  • 5 ground drones

  • 19 communication antennas

  • Observation complexes, electronic warfare systems, and an automatic grenade launcher

Russian fakes about Chasiv Yar

As early as July last year, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed the alleged capture of Chasiv Yar.

The spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group of Forces told RBC-Ukraine that this statement was fake.

In August, the spokesperson for the Dnipro Operational-Strategic Group of Forces, Viktor Trehubov, noted that the Russian forces only partially control Chasiv Yar.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported that the Russian troops had intensified pressure on Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk area.

According to Ukrainian troops, the Russian army has been unable to carry out frontal assaults and is attempting to bypass the Pokrovsk agglomeration from two sides. The Defense Forces continue to repel Russian attacks.
