Russia attacks Ukraine with drones: Explosions in Khmelnytskyi, fires in Vilniansk

On the night of January 29, Russia once again launched drones across Ukraine. Explosions were reported in several cities from the start of the day.

How Russia is attacking
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, Russian drones flew over Ukraine throughout the night. They were detected in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Volyn regions.

Khmelnytskyi region
“Sounds of explosions were heard in the Khmelnytskyi region,” Suspilne correspondents reported at 04:30 Kyiv time.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Forces warned that enemy drones were heading toward Starokostiantyniv from the north.
Odesa
At around 03:59 Kyiv time, several local media outlets reported explosions in Odesa.
According to the military, drones were approaching the city from the Black Sea. There is currently no information on possible damage or casualties.
Zaporizhzhia region
During the night, Russian forces struck the city of Vilniansk in the Zaporizhzhia region with drones. The private residential sector was hit, causing fires, destroying homes, and resulting in casualties.
“Unfortunately, two women and a man were killed, and another man was injured. He is receiving all necessary medical assistance,” said Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration, at 02:36.

Attacks on Ukraine
On the night of January 28, Russia also carried out an attack on Ukraine. The enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 146 attack drones. As of 9:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 130 enemy drones.
At the same time, impacts from the ballistic missile and 35 drones were recorded at 22 locations.
