On the night of October 3, Russian forces attacked the territory of Ukraine with strike drones and missiles of various types. In total, more than 400 enemy aerial targets were recorded, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"During the night of October 3, the enemy carried out a combined strike on the territory of Ukraine using strike drones, as well as air- and ground-launched missiles – a total of 416 means of aerial attack," the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

The following aerial targets were recorded:

  • 381 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types, launched from Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia;

  • 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;

  • 21 Iskander-K cruise missiles;

  • 7 Kh-59/69 guided aerial missiles.

It is noted that the main target of the strike was critical energy infrastructure facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions. The Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Kyiv regions were also affected by the night attack.

The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and drone units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, air defense destroyed or suppressed 320 aerial targets:

  • 303 enemy drones;

  • 12 Iskander-K cruise missiles;

  • 5 Kh-59/69 guided aerial missiles.

At the same time, 18 missile strikes and 78 drone strikes were recorded at 15 locations, as well as debris falling in 6 locations.

Attack on Ukraine on October 3

Russian forces attacked the southern, eastern, and northern regions of Ukraine overnight on October 3 with strike drones and missiles.

Thus, on the night of October 3, during the air raid alert in Odesa and Dnipro, explosions were heard, and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a threat of kamikaze drones to these cities.

In addition, explosions were repeatedly heard in Poltava. Earlier, monitoring channels reported the movement of cruise missiles in the direction of the city.
