Russia has again attacked Sumy region, targeting residential areas, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine.

Rescuers said that yesterday evening, the enemy struck one of the settlements in the Sumy community. As a result, a private house caught fire.

This morning, the Okhtyrka and Krasnopillia communities also came under attack:

  • Non-residential buildings were burned,
  • 11 private homes were damaged.

Law enforcement officials noted that investigative and operational police teams worked at the strike sites, documenting the destruction and collecting evidence of war crimes.

As a result of the attacks, eight civilians were injured, including an 8-year-old girl. Damage was reported to:

  • 23 private homes
  • a school
  • a kindergarten
  • outbuildings
  • vehicles
  • infrastructure facilities

Fires in dry vegetation were also recorded.

In addition, this morning the enemy carried out another airstrike on the Krasnopilka community, targeting a non-operational enterprise. "Preliminary reports indicate no casualties," the police added.

Russian attack on October 4

Overnight on October 4, Russian forces again attacked Ukraine, using strike drones and missiles. Several regions of the country came under aerial assault.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Command reported increased activity of enemy tactical aviation, including launches of guided aerial bombs (GABs) targeting Sumy region and in the direction of Zaporizhzhia.

Local residents reported a series of explosions in Sumy, in the Chuhuiv community of Kharkiv region, and in Chernihiv, where several powerful detonations were heard.

Emergency services are working on site, and information about the consequences of the attack is being updated.

In addition, overnight on October 4, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia region with drones. Three people were injured, and houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged.
